KINGS OF COMMAGENE. Antiochos IV Epiphanes, with Iotape, AD 38-40 and 41-72. Tetrachalkon (Bronze, 19.5 mm, 8.49 g, 12 h), inscribed for Lycaonia, Samosata, c. 38-40 or 41-54. ΒΑCΙΛEΩC YIOI Confronted busts of the young princes, Epiphanes and Callinicus atop crossed cornucopiae; anchor and star in between. Rev. ΛYKA-ONΩN Capricorn to right, with star behind and anchor below; all within laurel wreath. ACV 231. Kovacs 251. RPC I 3536. Dark green glossy surfaces; an attractive coin. Slightly overused dies, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
